What Do You Think It Will Cost?

Our society has taught us that success will cost you.

Our society perpetuates this stereotype… thank you Elon Musk thank you Steve Jobs…. that the people who are successful do so at a great personal cost; that they sacrifice their marriages, they sacrifice being good parents, they sacrifice their friendships all on the altar of pursuing ultimate success and that if you do want to be successful it’s gonna cost you.

It is not. Short answer is it’s not gonna cost you. I refuse to believe that it will cost you and there are lots of people out there who can back me up there are plenty of people who are making healthy six and seven-figure incomes in their business and they are still home by five, they are still making dinner for their spouses on Valentine’s Day, they are still at soccer games with their kids. I know somebody who hit seven figures in her business while she was home schooling. You do not have to sacrifice the things that are important to you in order to make money.

Success does not have to cost you. That’s why we design deliberately. That’s why we worked so hard on self-care. That is why we spend time not just talking about your business goals, but all of your life goals. That is why the work that I do with my clients, the work that I have invested literally my life in is all about life and business working in harmony because I’m not gonna let that happen to you. I refuse to let you sacrifice anything that is high priority for you on the altar of success.

Are we gonna sacrifice some things? Yeah, we’re gonna sacrifice our limiting beliefs. We are going to sacrifice all of the bullshit 90s movies about successful people having to have life changing moments in order to be good parents. I am going to sacrifice a little bit of my time. Sure, yeah I’m gonna spend time building this business. I’m gonna sacrifice a heck ton of sweat. Absolutely, I will pour that into my business but am I gonna sacrifice my relationship? Absolutely not! Not a chance. Am I going to sacrifice my health? Definitely not. Not a chance. And this isn’t just because I’m unwilling, this isn’t just because I have some very clear righteous anger about this whole concept. The reason that I’m not going to let you sacrifice these things is that it is not necessary and, in fact, it’s counterproductive. The people who can truly change the world, who can truly build businesses and lives of impact, global reaching impact, those people are performing at their best.

What your vision requires of you will require the best version of you and the best version of you is healthy, is balanced, is at peace, is connected to your community, is involved in deep meaningful relationships. In order for you to operate at the level that you will need to operate in order to be successful. In order for you to be the best version of yourself you will be required to maintain and grow in those key areas of your life. You will be required to show up in your relationships. You will be required to be a good parent, to be balanced, to be impeccable with your word, to be impeccable with your time management so that you could be at the soccer games and be at the important meetings. Growing this business will require you to be intentional. It will require you to show up with power. Fully grounded in who you are. Fully grounded in a family that you care about, that you are doing this work for. It will require you to put the time and effort and love into the things that matter to you because those things are going to make you the business owner and the person that you have to be in order to achieve ultimate success. We’re not sacrificing those things because they are essential to your journey and to your happiness and that is all that I want for you. All of it.
